To ensure privacy, zkWallet utilizes zk-SNARKs technology, which requires a secure common reference string (CRS) for cryptographic proofs. We generate the CRS through a Multi-Party Computation (MPC) process, decentralizing the setup across multiple participants so that no single entity can compromise the system’s security. This distributed approach significantly enhances privacy and decentralization.
Understanding the MPC Protocol

The MPC setup is conducted in two phases:

Phase 1: Contributors provide random inputs to generate initial CRS parameters. The 80th contribution advances to Phase 2.
Phase 2: Currently in progress, this phase refines Phase 1’s parameters to create secure zk-SNARK parameters for zkWallet.
